At the Rainbow’s end-of-year picnic
Yesterday we watched 15 tiny sweaty guys rolling around the playground at Gideon’s end-of-year picnic! Eli let all the little guys tackle him again, and everyone ate gross hotdogs and had a good time. Summer is most definitely coming to an end. To celebrate we’re going to the dollar movie theater every night.

Blowing out the candles on the Flash cake
Today Gideon is 4 (surely someone stole a year from us when we weren’t looking!), and we had 7 of his friends over for superhero fun, too much sugar, and running around. Eli wasan amazing big brother and let all the little kids throw water balloons at him (much more fun than throwing it at an inanimate object) and tackle him repeatedly. A good time was had by all. (That’s Aunt Ollie behind him coaching him. Now he is basking in playmobils, action figures, leapster, and sugar crash. Ah, bliss.
Camp Week

Gideon at Camp, August 2006
One week after Jared’s surgery, and he’s doing fabulously. Well, actually he’s absolutely exhausted, but I’m doing great and the kids and I are all doing our best to cheer him up and get him snacks. This week was camp week for both Eli and Gideon. Meantime Jared and I cleaned file cabinets and finished the second season of Lost. What a perfect combo!
Home Again

After 5500 miles across country, we are home again and starting a new chapter. J had surgery yesterday and is recovering very well (pictures from our visit to the ComiCon and the national parks of Utah help). After almost three years of lousy news (or worse, no news) about health issues for both B and J, the Big Corner seems to have finally been turned. We are gearing up for what promises to be a very healthy and happy year.
