Scale Olympics

Blue Ribbon Boy
Today Eli competed in the Scale Olympics, an event for young pianists to show off what they have learned in terms of scales, transposition, arpeggios, triads, harmonization, theory, and sight reading (and some other stuff I can’t remember, because he is already way beyond me with all of this). As you can see from the proud boy in the picture, he did very well indeed! He entered all 8 events, and earned blue ribbons in all and a special overall ribbon for going 8 for 8. Frankly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so proud and happy. We went out to celebrate with sushi (of course). A perfect day.
